Hello, name is Ragnole. Not much to say about me, im a weeb and like game design.
Recently decided i want to try and mod NS:UNS4 and found this site and some tutorials. I have multiple questions about the modding before i want to try getting deep into it.
What is probably a bad idea for my starting project, I want to make five sorta new characters with custom models and their own spot on the base roster and a bunch of other character's things kinda mashed together. First question is I think you can import custom models but I'm not 100% sure because I'm still trying to get into all of this. Another thing is I want to confirm if you can have combo's from different characters on one character and can edit their special effects and what they do, such as having Darui's up attack but making it a basic one and causing knock back. Also is it possible to sorta mesh abilities together to make a new one, such as having Mifune's Resident Decapitation in normal colors and after sheathing the blade cause a Kirin like lightning explosion go off instead of ink splatter? Or something like Cherry Blossom Crash with the effects of Guillotine Drop and animation a different animation? Lastly is it at all possible to make custom team ultimate combos?

first you cant import custom models only swapping parts between characters 2 you can but it is a bit hard either skill edits or file header/texture edits for the last u mean by team ult combos the hits from your supports before the start or the full team ult it self both is possible tho but not sure if any animation could work with the second and for the first only cinematic animations , for the bad part of starting modding is jumping into roster without understanding basics of the modding it self , good luck

Welcome to our forums Well, Flame responded to this already but I guess getting more responses will be more helpful. We don't know how to import custom models yet. I think there was a modder who did, but he didn't tell us how so we don't really know. About the spot on the roster, yeah that's possible to do, but it's kinda hard at first. The third thing you asked, having combos of different characters in one, yeah, it's possible. Meshing abilities together may be possible, I honestly haven't tried but it shouldn't be really different to mesh swapping. The last thing you asked... well, it depends. Making a 100% new UJ is impossible for now, as it requires an animation and everything, but if you already have a cutscene and want it to be a Team UJ, yeah, that's possible to do. As for the team ultimate yes, im talking about when you send out your buddies and then combo into an ult, like for Kakashi and Guy combining Hirudora and lightning running beast. Was wanting the characters to use Five Release Great Combo Technique with each one in it, though i guess you guys said it's hard to edit cut scene abilities and abilities in general?
And there is one more question i originaly had but forgot to ask, is it possible to have a combo change halfway through or end differently than normal? Such as having Shikimaru's normal combo but ending with a fire ball and not shadows?

Yeah, you can change the combos, as each part of them have separated animations The team ultimate can be done only if the cutscene already exists in game or the animation. You'd have to swap the characters and fix the faces, but that's not much of a problem.

YOOOOO and welcome flame and zealot already answered but as an advice start with some texture tutorials then some basic modding tutorials cause you are starting with a big project there xD good luck
